Cycling Training for 4th, 5th and 6th!
Last Thursday 4th, 5th and 6th began cycling safety training with Greenway Waterford Bike Hire. This course is aligned to Cycle Right, the National Standard for Cycle Safety Training in Ireland. The children really enjoyed this training despite the weather conditions!
Cycling Training will continue for the next few weeks and the topics covered will include safe equipment, rules of the road, starting and stopping, road positioning, shoulder checking, turning left and right, overtaking and traffic manoeuvres. All of these are taught in a fun environment and the children really enjoyed the games played on the bikes which were designed to practise and improve the skills learned.
