Science Week in 5th and 6th

The theme of this year's Science Week is Climate Change, and here in Burncourt NS we are looking at the positive impact planting trees has on the environment and how it can be used to help combat climate change.

So far this week 5th and 6th have looked at the impact climate change is having on the Amazon area. We have also been examining our social conscience in relation to climate change and have been looking at how our actions in developed countries are leaving people in the developing world with serious issues to face.

We looked at the tree cover in our local area on Google maps and then we went mapping our school and looking at the trees already present in our school environment.   We will now be planning other areas where tree planting could take place.
