No Waste Wednesday is a simple, positive step our school is taking as part of the Green Schools programme to reduce litter and protect the environment. Every Wednesday, students are encouraged to bring waste-free lunches — meaning food and drinks packed in reusable containers instead of single-use plastic, foil, or disposable packaging.
The goal is to help everyone become more aware of how much rubbish we create each day and to show that small changes can make a big difference. By cutting down on packaging, we reduce landfill waste, keep our school grounds cleaner, and build lifelong eco-friendly habits.
Easy ways to take part:
Use a reusable lunchbox instead of disposable bags
Bring a refillable water bottle
Pack snacks in small containers rather than wrapped items
Avoid single-use plastics where possible
Together, we can make Wednesdays greener — and show how our school community cares for the planet
Well done to the Orange room for all having their refillable bottles and for generating the least waste in their classroom this Wednesday!
