We use the STEP principle to adapt our PE lessons to ensure involvement of ALL studentsSpaceTaskEquipment People
All of our PE equipment is stored in our PE shed.

All pupils have a minimum of 60 minutes timetabled PE per week.

Third to sixth class attend swimming lessons while juniors to second class complete the land-paws program.

Ms. Murphy attending the OIDE course 'Developing pupil well-being in the PE lesson' . As a school we wanted to use PE as a way of developing friendships and co-operation among peers.

All teachers use the move well, move often resource when delivering PE lessons. We often refer to this website when planning Move Well, Move Often

PE is discussed as PT meetings and there is a section for Physical Education in our end of year reports.

This year the FMS we are prioritising are JUMPING, RUNNING, LANDING & STRIKING WITH AN IMPLEMENT.

All students receive PE homework based on the strand being covered. Follow link to see an example of our PE homework for gymnastics.          Gymnastics PE Homework

Every class participated in a 4 week ‘Learning on the Move’ challenge, during the past 12 months.(Required)

Physical activity is incorporated into whole-school celebrations, initiatives and themed weeks. An example of our CeilĂ for Seachtain na Gaeilge! ☘️
We also love the '12 days of fitmas' challengehttps://activeschoolflag.ie/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/20241129-ASF-Walkway-Learning-Charts-12-Days-of-Fitmas-C-2.pdf

Our school ensures that all Active School activities are planned so that they are accessible by all pupils - We use the tree model

Every class teacher has agreed with his/her class, a set of actions to decrease sedentary time.
